Objective: At San Diego Comic-Con, the world’s largest pop culture event, create engagement with and excitement for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise in celebration of the original game’s 25th anniversary and upcoming game releases.
Activate & Engage: Took over House of Blues in San Diego with custom branding, dancing Sonics, and wall graphics on three floors. Installed demo game play of pre-release Sonic Mania on one full wall of the venue space. Catering sponsored by Totino’s with a branded lounge. All attendees received a swag bag with limited-edition Sonic merchandise.
Amplify: Took over the HoB performance theater for “The Big Show” – a combination of announcements, videos, guests from the game like VO artists and designers, and live stage musical performances by Crush 40 and Hyper Potions. Managed a merchandise sales area with event-exclusive merchandise for immediate purchase.
Report & Support: Sold out event with 1,350 attendees and extensive press coverage.
